College Level Internships Benefit Municipalities

Get Your Municipality Involved Today!

The Pennsylvania Municipal Internship Program serves all municipalities within the Commonwealth. Because PA MIP provides additional resources for municipalities to address vital projects, special consideration will be given to Act 47 and Early Intervention Program communities.

PA MIP provides an opportunity for college and graduate level interns from across Pennsylvania to actively engage in managing municipal operations, projects, and decision-making, thereby preparing them for a career in municipal government.

PA MIP Links Students & Municipalities

Once municipalities have registered to participate in the program and have submitted details about internship positions they would like to fill, PA MIP actively works to link college and graduate level students with the available opportunities.

All internship opportunities will be publicized via listing on the PA MIP website, social media, online internship job postings and through participating educational institution’s internship offices.

PA MIP will work with municipalities to develop a site-specific Scope of Services relating to the projects, duties and responsibilities that will be assigned to an intern. Prospective interns can request specific locations, based upon proximity to school or home address, or other relevant factors.

The primary goal of this program is to support municipal government operations and to elevate awareness with respect to municipal careers. These college level interns will bring fresh knowledge that will help aid in the growth of municipalities. In addition, by participating in the program, you will help to further bring communities and universities together.
